Just last week, U.S. Marshals announced that they are trying to regain money pillaged by Billy McFarland during 2017’s infamous Fyre Festival by putting a load of unsold event merchandise up for auction. As it turns out, people are actually putting their bids, and willing to spend heaps for the Fyre Festival merch.

Ralph Sozio, U.S. Marshal of the Southern District of New York said in an interview, “This Fyre Festival-branded clothing and other items that were seized from McFarland were originally intended to be sold at the Fyre Festival itself but were kept by McFarland, with the intent to sell the items and use the funds to commit further criminal acts while he was on pre-trial release.”

“The proceeds from the sale of these items, all traceable to McFarland’s $26 million fraud, will go toward the victims of his crimes.” he also added.

There are currently 126 Fyre Festival event merchandise to come under the hammer via the Gaston & Sheehan website, including Fyre Festival branded clothing, tokens, and wristbands. There’s even a pair of tees from Ja Rule and Ashanti’s tour in 2016 that was sponsored by Fyre.

The Fyre Festival auction lot is open until the 13th of August 2020 but if you want to cop some Fyre merchandise, you need to prepare to shell out hundreds. Some Fyre Festival branded clothing, hoodies, long sleeves, and caps, are already over $300 USD, and still with ten days left until the hammer falls, there’s no telling how much the end value of the items will be.
