Andor: Diego Luna Reprises His Star Wars Character for the Disney+ Show

Andor is more than a Rogue One prequel.

Diego Luna is reprising his character of Cassian Andor for the Star Wars show Andor. Luna was last seen as Andor in Rogue One, and this series is set five years before the film. The series will release later next month and is expected to run for two seasons. It will focus on how Cassian transformed into the fiercely dedicated Rebel who even gave his life for the cause.

In addition to Luna, the Star Wars show will also star Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, and many other prominent actors. Andor’s marketing campaign has been active since May as the first trailer of the show was released during the Star Wars Celebration in that month. The preview showed the Empire in power and the Rebellion’s weak efforts to fight back.

Luna released the latest trailer for Andor. It confirmed that the show will release on September 21 and will have a three-episode premiere. A new poster was also released alongside the trailer.

In addition to Cassian’s origin story, the show will also focus on the origins of the Rebel Alliance. Mon Mothma’s manoeuvrings in the Imperial Senate and Skarsgård’s leader Luther Rand’s attempt to recruit people like Cassian to fight for the cause will also be shown. Rand might have a role that is equivalent to Andor’s. He might also cross paths with Saw Gerrera. Given that the series will have so many stories having 12 episodes for it seems to be a good decision.

Fans liked the Andor trailer because it was shot on location and on large, practical sets. The set pieces are incredibly good, and the space battles also look appealing.
