Apple Watch Update – Apple will Fix Your Charging Issue for Free
Apple Watch users reported that they experience problems in charging their smartwatches
Apple released the latest Apple Watch update, watchOS 7.3.1 this Monday. The company hopes that this update will help fix a charging issue present in some Apple Watch Series 5 or SE smartwatches. The company also announced that it would fix some Apple watches with this issue for free.
For those who are unaware, some Apple Watch Series 5 or SE owners have reported that they experience problems in charging their smartwatches once the watch enters the Power Reserve Mode. As the name suggests, the power reserve mode helps a watch preserve the battery by showing just the current time and a red lightning bolt. The watch will also stop communicating with the iPhones, and many other features would not be available.
The Apple Watch charging Issue fix
Apple expressed hope that the latest update might help fix that issue in the future but also highlighted that it would fix the Apple Watch with such an issue for free. In an official statement, the company stated: “A very small number of customers with Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE models running watchOS 7.2 or 7.3 have experienced an issue with their watch not charging after it enters Power Reserve.”
In case your Apple smartwatch is not charging properly after entering power reserve mode, and you have put it on charge for more than 30 minutes, you are free to contact Apple support and seek a free mail-in repair. As expected, free repair will not be eligible for all customers. Apple has the right to decide which Apple Watch it will repair for free. It will inspect the watch to “verify that it’s eligible for free repair.”
