Yesterday morning, Jeff Bezos successfully flew into space on the New Shepard from the Blue Origin launchpad in Texas. Apart from Jeff Bezos, other crew members included his brother, teenager Oliver Daemen, and Wally Funk.

After the Blue Origin flight, both Oliver Daemen, 18, and Wally Funk, 82, became the youngest and oldest people who have flown to space. Just about 10 days ago, Richard Branson successfully conducted a space flight on the Virgin Galactic Unity 22, becoming the first billionaire in space.

As for Wally Funk, he is known to be a flying legend. He was a part of the Mercury 13 program in the 1960s. The program was aimed at training women to fly into space. However, it ended up getting cancelled. Since then, the flying legend was waiting to fly to space again.

Jeff Bezos mentioned that he aims to make space travel via Blue Origin a routine thing. This could mark the start of space tourism, something that Elon Musk and Richard Branson are also hoping to achieve.

The Blue Origin Shepard carries up to 6 people and can work autonomously. The capsule and rocket on the spaceship are reusable and lands in a vertical orientation. Before Jeff Bezos got on board with his crew, he got the rocket tested 15 times.

At about 76200 meters above the ground, the capsule got separated from the rocket and then continue to fly another 99779.3 meters high. At this point, the crew members could experience weightlessness for a few minutes.

Eventually, the New Shepard spaceship landed back in the desert in Texas where the astronauts reunited with the space mission team. As compared with Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin by Jeff Bezos has a faster spacecraft.

As a result of this, the Jeff Bezos spaceflight took 11 minutes only to reach the edge of space. Also, the Blue Origin spacecraft is comparatively more spacious. This was purposely built to make it easier for the crew members to float during weightlessness.

In other news, Prince Harry will reportedly be publishing his memoir in 2022, with the first draft almost complete.
