Filmaker Cary Fukunaga has signed on to direct the first three episodes of Apple TV+’s upcoming Band of Brothers sequel “Masters of the Air”. Fukunaga will also join the series’ producing team.

In addition to that, he is also nearing a first-look deal with the tech giant through his production company, Parliament of Owls. In the deal, Fukunaga and his president of development and production, Hayden Lautenbach, will develop and produce TV projects for Apple TV+.

The new show, Masters of the Air, will be the third television series on which Fukunaga has directed. Recently, he helmed the Netflix limited series “Maniac.” He also directed the first season of “True Detective,” nabbing an Emmy in 2014. He also directed the upcoming James Bond movie “No Time to Die.”

Based on the book by Donald L. Miller, “Masters of the Air” features the true story of the American and British World War II bombers boys who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep.

The Band of Brothers sequel is set to begin filming in London in March next year, according to Deadline.
