After the success of iPhone 11, Apple fans were hoping for iPhone 12 details from the California-based company and were expecting only three devices. Those fans are in for a surprise as the company might break its tradition of three iPhones a year and launch five in 2020 and a similar number in 2021.

The rumours of not one iPhone 12 but several iPhones began after the well-known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo made predictions regarding upcoming products. As his predictions are usually true, the world of gadgets is buzzing now. He said that Apple would have a new iPhone SE 2 in the first half of 2020, which is in line with previous reports.

The design of SE 2, will be similar to iPhone 8 but the internal specifications would be updated. This news might make people think how the first SE had the design similar to iPhone 5S, but the specs were from iPhone 6s (déjà vu!).

Kuo also predicted that in the iPhone 12 lineup, one of the models would have a 5.4-inch display and two will have a 6.1-inch screen. One more is expected to be a 6.7-inch model. All of them will have 5G support and OLED displays, and their cameras will differentiate them.

The 5.4 and lower-end 6.1-inch devices will have dual rear cameras while the higher end 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch devices will have three rear cameras and an add-on lens, a time-of-flight 3D sensor whch could potentially be used for AR.

Kuo also predicted that in 2021, Apple might ditch the lighting port and might offer a completely wireless experience. This move would make a lot of sense as right now iPhones have low charging functionality as all supported devices are capped at 7.5W. He predicted that iPhone SE 2 Plus device would have an all-screen design and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It will be built into the power button which is placed on the side of the phone would be used instead of Face ID.

Kuo didn’t predict the prices of new iPhone 12 models that will likely be launched. It is possible that the price range would vary widely to target diverse segments of the market. Apple is yet to comment on the predictions by Kuo.
