Donald Trump Isn't Giving Up Easily After Election Defeat to Joe Biden

Donald Trump isn’t accepting the fact that he has lost the presidential elections to Joe Biden. Two new developments have taken place in this regard. First, he has been rebuked by ten living former secretaries of defence who have cautioned against any move that might involve military being told to pursue election fraud claims. Secondly, his phone call with an election official from Georgia has been leaked, and it contains some interesting stuff.

The ten living former secretaries of defence have signed on an opinion article published in a leading newspaper that has implicitly questioned Donald Trump’s willingness to follow constitutional duty and relinquish power peacefully on Jan 20, 2021. They also said that if the military pursues the election fraud claimed by Donald Trump, it will take the country into “dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory.”

The ten living former secretaries of defence wrote “The time for questioning the results has passed; the time for the formal counting of the electoral college votes, as prescribed in the Constitution and statute, has arrived. Efforts to involve the US armed forces in resolving election disputes would take us into dangerous, unlawful, and unconstitutional territory. Civilian and military officials who direct or carry out such measures would be accountable, including potentially facing criminal penalties, for the grave consequences of their actions on our republic.”

The phone call of Donald Trump

In another development, a leading publication of the US has released a recording of Donald Trump’s phone call to Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. In the call, Donald Trump can be heard saying “I just want to find 11,780 votes.” To which Raffensperger can be heard saying that Georgia’s results were correct. Donald Trump then says that there was ‘nothing wrong with saying you have recalculated.’ To this, Raffensberger says “The challenge you have Mr President is that the data you have is wrong.”

Yesterday Donald Trump said that he had talked to Raffensperger ‘regarding Fulton County and voter fraud in Georgia’ He wrote “He was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ‘ballots under table’ scam, ballot destruction, out of state “voters”, dead voters, and more. He has no clue!”

Raffensperger quote-tweeted Donald Trump’s post and said: “The truth will come out.”
