Donnie Yen – Ip Man Star is Joining the Cast of John Wick 4
Well-known for his unmatched work roles in the Ip Man movies
According to the latest insights, John Wick 4 will be casting Donnie Yen alongside the main cast. In the fourth instalment, Donnie Yen will play the role of Wick’s old friend with a similar history and many enemies in common.
Chad Stahelski will be directing John Wick 4. It would not be his first, as he co-directed the first film and the other two parts. At the same time, the John Wick 4 screenplay is written by Michael Finch and Shay Hatten.
On the other hand, the film is being produced by Stahelski and Erica Lee, while Louise Rosner and Keanu Reaves are also on the team as co-producers.
Now with Donnie Yen in the cast, fans expect the new sequel to be exceptional. After all, Donnie Yen is well-known for his unmatched work roles in the Ip Man movies. Furthermore, he also delivered a great performance in Rogue One: A Star Wars story, Mulan, and xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
Interestingly, other than acting, Donnie Yen is also a master of martial arts with high proficiency in Jeet Kune Do, Wushu, Wing Chun, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, Hapkido, Karate, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Tai Chi, and Boxing.
It probably suggests that John Wick 4 is going to have plenty of breath-taking fight sequences. After all, the entire franchise is already famous for nice action scenes. Though, Donnie Yen will add a lot more flavour.
Regarding his casting, the Director of John Wick 4, Chad Stahelski stated, “We are very lucky to have Donnie Yen join the franchise. I am looking forward to working with him in this exciting new role.”
The filming of John Wick 4 started right after the release of the third film in 2019. According to various sources, this sequel will not come out before 27th May 2022. Keanu Reeves prefers to finish the Matrix 4 filming first.
In other news, a heated face-off between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley just happened. Both boxers have a boxing match planned for 28th August. Though, betters seem to be rooting more for Jake Paul based on the recent trends.
