Effective Winter Workouts To Prep Your Body For Summer

Beach bods are built during winter

Winter is here mates and it’s time to move and start working out if you want to build that brawny summer built. Achieving that beach-ready bod in a short amount of time is almost humanly impossible so better start early as now.  It can’t be done in an instant, it’s not a miracle, you really have to work hard for it.  It really takes time if you’re just a normal bloke—around four to five months (and this still depends on how focused you are)—to lose weight or get strong.

If you are a busy person and at the very least, want a toned physique and shed a few excess kilos, get shirtless while under the sun,  just follow these simple winter workout routines and you won’t be a massive mound of flesh on the sand.  Again, please, don’t expect a miracle.  You need a lot of dedication in these workout routines and a proper diet for this to work effectively.

These two body weight exercise routine involve muscle groups and the great thing about them is that they don’t require any equipment, which means these can be done almost anywhere, any time.  They also build the foundation for strength or resistance training in the gym.

Winter Workout Option #1:  Body weight exercises (10-12 reps x 3 sets with rests in between)

-Squats
-Push-ups
-Chin-ups
-Tricep dips
-‎Lunges
-Leg raises
-Crunches (side)

Winter Workout Option #2: Tabata Workout (20-second work, then 10-second rest)

Developed by Dr. Izumi Tabata, this system can effectively burn fat over a short period of time, resulting in a leaner body.  It consists of eight rounds of ultra-high-intensity exercises.

-Burpees

-Squats

-Plank Jacks

-Leg Lifts

-Dynamic Lunges (Alternate Lunges)

-Tuck jumps

-Spider Crawls

-Mountain Climber

Note: We underlined ultra-high intensity because Tabata exercises are done in bursts at max effort (all out). So once the timer hits the go mark, you should already be in position doing the required movement like there’s no tomorrow.
