Without a doubt, Game of Thrones is one of the most widely acclaimed TV series of all time. To celebrate the GOT TV premiere’s 10th anniversary, HBO seems to have some exciting plans. If you are a fan of the hit series, there is plenty to look forward to.

 

Game of Thrones: Iron Anniversary

Titled the Iron Anniversary that will last for a month, the celebration will engage fans and ignite the excitement of audiences for the upcoming shows. A press release by HBO stated, “A custom spotlight page on HBO Max with personalized curations, a binge-watching marathon, special-edition products, and more, will launch throughout the month.”

Not only that, but this celebration will also do good for society. The cast members of the Game of Thrones series will help contribute to some noble initiatives. According to HBO, these include World Central Kitchen, International Rescue Committee, FilmAid International, Royal Mencap Society, The Trevor Project, Women for Women International, Conservation International, UNICEF, SameYou, and National Urban League.

 

Fans will also get to see playlists that feature stories of their favourite characters from Game of Thrones, such as Arya and Daenerys Targaryen. Similarly, playlists for the best episodes and main battles will also be included.

 

Three superfans of the Game of Thrones series who were married in Westeros-themed ceremonies will also win some very special anniversary gifts. The gift package includes Game of Thrones branded wine, custom-made chalices, and elaborate GOT cakes to be commissioned from local bakeries that will represent houses of Targaryen, Stark, and Lannister. 

There will also be new merchandise for Game of Throne fans to collect: 

  • A one-of-a-kind Game of Thrones Fabergé Egg, from the world’s most iconic artist jeweller, Fabergé. The luxury egg was inspired by Daenerys Targaryen, and was co-designed by series Emmy Award-winning costume designer Michele Clapton. The egg includes a miniature crown which represents the crown Daenerys would have worn had she taken the Iron Throne. 
  • Mikkeller, a Danish craft beer company, have launched a range of beers inspired by the HBO series, with the first beer in the assortment called “Iron Anniversary IPA.”
  • Funko have also unveiled a new iron-textured limited-edition set of fan-favourite “Game of Thrones” Pop! vinyl collectibles and new figures based on your Game of Thrones characters like Arya Stark, Khal Drogo, and many more. These are available for pre-order now at retailers.
  • The Game of Thrones: Complete Collection is available in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and through select digital retailers. The complete Game of Thrones series is also available to stream on HBO Max.

 

 

Here in Australia,  residents of Melbourne, the Iron Anniversary marks the perfect time to experience a Westerosi tavern. Warner Bros Consumer Products and Moon Dog Brewing have joined hands to produce GOT beers. Moon Dog will be offering these brews at the Preston and Abbotsford sites starting from 16th April, Friday.

These GoT brews that will be available at craft beer retailers throughout the country and at the Moon Brew online store from 19th April, Monday. Indeed, good news for residents of other cities who do not want to miss out on all the fun.

Iron Anniversary will also highlight the GoT Sequels (or rather prequels since the events precede those of the Game of Thrones timeline). With just about a week left for the celebrations to begin, fans are already incredibly excited.

For fans, the Game of Thrones month-long premiere anniversary celebrations will be a great trip down the memory road.
