The director of John Wick, Chad Stahelski, is working on A Ghost of Tsushima film that will adapt the game for the big screen. The plot of the film will be based on the PlayStation 4 video game that is developed by Sucker Punch Productions. One of the reasons the film is being made so quickly is that the game is remarkably successful. It sold over 6.5 million copies in less than one year.

The Ghost of Tsushima movie is one of the several PlayStation adaptions that the fans can expect soon. One such project is an uncharted film led by Tom Holland and The Last of Us series that will star Bella Ransey and Pedro Pascal.

For those who have not played the game yet, Ghost of Tsushima tells the story of Jin Sakai, who is a samurai in the 13th century. He lives on the island of Tsushima and battles against an army of Mongol invaders who are led by Khotun Khan. He was beaten and bloodied in the initial attacks and then decided to regain his strength. So, the game of Ghost of Tsushima revolves around his quest to regain his strength and be strong enough to take back his home.

When it was released, Ghost of Tsushima was praised for the gameplay and amazing visual design. It was even named a decent send-off to the PlayStation 4 era as PlayStation 5 was released soon after that.

The Ghost of Tsushima movie is under development from Sony Pictures and PlayStation productions. Chad Stahelski is leading the project while Jason Spitz and Alex Young from Stahelski’s 87Eleven Entertainment will produce it along with Carter Swan and Asad Qizilbash of PlayStation Productions. Sucker Punch Productions will also serve in an Executive Production capacity, and Peter King will oversee things from that front.
