Girard-Perregaux unveiled the new tourbillon watch at the Geneva Watch Days. This special edition tourbillon is designed to celebrate the 230th anniversary of the company. And it happens to be the first watch that features 18-carat pink gold on all three bridges.

Girard-Perregaux uses these bridges as the mainplate. However, they also support the barrel and gear train of the timepiece. Each of the flying bridges used in this tourbillon watch is cut by hand. Of course, this is a process that requires some real skill.

Back in 2020, Girard-Perregaux released the first bridge model. Now, this new tourbillon watch is the last reference in the Bridges collection by the Swiss house.

Even though it has a contemporary look, this tourbillon watch is made using Haute Horlogerie techniques. Featuring a 19th-century lyre-shaped design, the cage of this Girard-Perregaux timepiece truly invokes nostalgia.

Another notable trait of this Girard-Perregaux watch is that it is constructed with high-grade titanium weighing only 0.25 grams. This gives the watch a 60-hour power reserve. And despite being extremely complex, the dial on this Girard-Perregaux watch remains uncluttered.

The vertical rotor sides feature an engraving of the model’s name and some other subtle details that may only be visible on a close look.

The CEO of Girard-Perregaux, Patrick Pruniaux stated in a recent statement, “The Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges embraces three-dimensional architecture, allowing the wearer to see many parts hidden away.”

Furthermore, the CEO also stated that the gold bridges are shrouded in black PVD. This is perhaps, what gives the watch its luxurious feel. Regarding this, he said, “It seems wonderfully indulgent, a trait synonymous with luxury, that will remain a secret to most people, except for those in the know.”
