The Greta Thunberg interview
The issue features an interview with Greta Thunberg, in which she talks about the work that she has been doing. With that, Greta Thunberg also did not miss the chance to call out ethical fast fashion.
Regarding this, the activist stated, “If you are buying fast fashion then you are contributing to that industry and encouraging them to expand and encouraging them to continue their harmful process.”
But that is not all. Greta Thunberg also collectively called out the entire fashion industry. According to her, the fashion industry has been promoting an overall eco-friendly and sustainable image but does not bring any changes.
She also stated that the industry often spends a high amount of money on campaigns to look more ethical, green, and sustainable. The climate change activist called it “pure greenwash”. According to her, it is not possible to consume or mass produce fashion in a sustainable way.
Regarding the conversation, Martina Bonnier, the editor-in-chief of the issue wrote about Greta Thunberg, “Not only is she a singular Scandinavian figure and force of change, but she also embodies the love of nature, pursuit of sustainability, and unabashed fearlessness that is at the core of our vision.”
Greta Thunberg achieved fame for the first time when she was 15. This happened when she started a “school strike for climate” campaign, inspiring many students throughout the world. Eventually, the young activist attended the UN Climate Action Summit.
Greta Thunberg also had a clash with the former POTUS, Donald Trump, leading to his tweet, “Greta must work on her anger management problem, then go to a good old-fashioned movie with a friend.”
She also told Vogue that she has no plans to stop the school strike. This issue of the magazine can currently be purchased on the internet.
