It has been months since HBO gave us the first look at the upcoming House of the Dragon show. The Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, is set 300 years before the GOT events and revolves around the peak age of the House Targaryen.

The show will also cover the civil war between the Targaryens that is covered in greater depth in ‘The Dance of the Dragons’ by George R. R. Martin. This time around, George R. R. Martin will be the showrunner of House of the Dragon alongside Ryan Condal.

While most people know GRRM from Game of Thrones, the second showrunner, Ryan Condal, also has an impressive history. Along with that, Miguel Sapochnik, who is famously known for directing the “Battle of the Bastards” episode of GOT, is also leading the show.

Along with that, the composer of Westworld and the Game of Thrones, Ramin Djawadi is also returning to compose the soundtrack for House of the Dragon.

Regarding the House of the Dragon, Matt Smith from The Crown says, “I think it’ll be a really exciting cast; I think it’s a wonderful legacy to be a part of and a wonderful world, and it’s a great part.” The star will be portraying Prince Daemon Targaryen in the show.

He further added, “And without saying too much, yeah… I’m just sort of looking forward to riding a few dragons.”

This suggests that House of the Dragon is going to give us plenty of content involving dragons. After all, what is house Targaryen without dragons? Based on the current information, the characters appearing in House of the Dragon include King Viserys, Alicent Hightower, Princess Rahimyar, Prince Daemon, Lord Corlys Velaryon, Princess Rhaenys, Otto Hightower, Mysaria, and Ser Criston Cole.

House of the Dragon is expected to premiere on HBO Max and HBO around early 2022. A teaser of the show has been unveiled by HBO already, giving us a sneak peek into the show.
