HBO Might be Recreating Parasite Movie as a Limited Series

 It’s the most talked about foreign language movie of 2019

The Americans have a knack for turning good stuff into their own versions. The next attempt in this regard would probably   be made to recreate the super impressive Parasite movie. There is no confirmation on this, but speculations are rife that the Director and Writer of Bong Joon Ho might be onboard already.

 

For those who are unaware, the Parasite movie was one of the most popular films of 2019. The Korean thriller managed to impress the former US President, Barack Obama as well. The movie has earned USD 23 (about AUD 33.45) million at the domestic box office and USD (about AUD 189) 130 million across the globe.

The Parasite movie has also earned many awards, including a Golden Globes win and is certainly a strong contender for an Academy Award as well. The film focuses on the Kim family that’s extremely poor and their employers, the Park family, that’s extremely rich. During the film, the two families face several surprises that have deadly results.

 

It is rumoured that HBO will convert the Parasite movie into a limited TV series. Bong would apparently work with Adam McKay (Succession). Bong is known for some creative pieces like The Host, Okja and Snowpiercer, among others.

 

HBO hasn’t responded to a request for a comment so there is no word on whether the limited TV series on the Parasite will be a prequel, a sequel or it would be a totally different story. The language of the film is also not confirmed yet, but it will likely be in English as Korean isn’t the first language of many people across the world.

 

People who are getting too excited about the Parasite movie remake on HBO should know that though the limited series might have been rushed into development, it is not assured that whether it will be released in a few months or would be stuck in the development hell for years. The chances of the latter are quite high when considering the fact that another movie by Bong, Snowpiercer is still stuck in development hell and is yet to come out.
