During an interview, when he was asked about managing the launch of the latest iPhone, he said that a new Japanese telecommunications business law would come into effect on October 1. So, the company would need to wait for ten days before kicking off the sales of iPhone 11.

This means that iPhone 11 could be launched on September 20, a Friday. It makes perfect sense as other models like iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 7 were released on Fridays too.
