In August 2019, Bugatti revealed the souped-up version of the Bugatti Chiron supercar at the Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany that was driven by factory test driver Andy Wallace. The car broke the 300-mph barrier by reaching 304.773 mph. It also inspired the carmaker to create a 30-piece limited edition of Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+. Now Jacob & Co. has created a watch called Twin Turbo Furious Bugatti 300+ that’s bound to impress every watch enthusiast.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Inspired Watch by Jacob & Co. will be limited to just three exclusive pieces, and each of them will cost USD 580,000 (near AUD 840,000.00). Several factors make the watch worth the price.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Inspired Watch by Jacob & Co. is encased in an asymmetrical tonneau-shaped frame. This unique frame made of forged carbon and black titanium, which resembles the car’s exposed carbon-fibre bodywork. The timepiece also houses a grand complication movement that consists of 832 parts. What’s more, is that the case is also comprised of 88 additional parts.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Inspired Watch by Jacob & Co. has two accelerated triple-axis tourbillons that are made of black titanium. The watch also has a rarefied take on the minute repeater. It doesn’t have the traditional mechanism that sounds on hours, quarter hours, and minutes. It is a decimal repeater that chimes the number of 10-minute intervals after the last hour, followed by the minutes. As only a few brands create decimal repeaters, the feature is very impressive.
Another thing about Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Inspired Watch by Jacob & Co. is that it has a monopusher chronograph equipped with a “reference time” indicator that is in the centre of the dial. It displays the difference in seconds in comparison to a reference time. It is an homage to the pit boards in motor racing.
The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Inspired Watch by Jacob & Co. also has 50 hours of power reserve. It is not the first watch Jacob & Co. has come up with since entering the partnership with Bugatti about a year back, and we are sure that it won’t be the last effort to honour the car company.
