There are heaps of movie instagrammable places that are nice to visit unfortunately these are fictional. The ones in the real world don’t match their cinematic counterparts. So you won’t be able to experience the technological conveniences of the Golden City, Wakanda – Black Panther; meet the members of the criminal underworld at The Continental- The John Wick franchise; study for potion classes at The Gryffindor Common Room – Harry Potter. But you can visit the stairs from Joker movie. The stairs are located in New York City’s northernmost borough, where they connect Shakespearean and Anderson Avenues at West 167th Street.

The controversial Todd Phillips’ The Joker movie continues to draw in record-breaking box office numbers, and it’s safe to say at this point that Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayal of the Joker has gained a following. The stairs Phoenix’s version of the Clown Prince of Crime dances on has become a big tourist spot as well.

Right now there’s a sort of Joker movie mania taking place, and fans are looking for different ways of connecting with the character beyond the film. This Joker movie fandom is evidenced in the sudden appreciation for what is commonly being referred to as “The Joker stairs” which are becoming a real-life tourist attraction. Many fans are turning up to snap a good profile picture of themselves either busting their own dance moves down them or simply posing at what’s quickly becoming a well-known pilgrimage site for Joker fans.

It’s doubtful that the popularity of these Bronx stairs is going to diminish any time soon, particularly if Joker movie does well at next year’s Academy Awards.

The film and the brouhaha created by the Joker trailer has died down a little since its release. The reviews are now more positive, there’s no doubt that Phillips and Phoenix have helped bring the legendary supervillain to a whole new level – one that makes previous portrayals like Jack Nicholson’s and Heath Ledger feel like a world apart.

Halloween is just around the corner and will bring a lot of people emulating the iconic Gotham villain, it’s a sure bet.
