Star Wars fans had high hopes from Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker but the film sadly, for some,  hasn’t turned out to be an iconic movie it could have been. It has been a huge disappointment for them. Thankfully, all hope is not lost of such fans as Jon Favreau has recently confirmed that there will be a second season for the surprisingly popular TV series of the Star Wars Universe, The Mandalorian.

The showrunner and creator of The Mandalorian confirmed that the second season would debut om Fall 2020 (in the US). He had previously stated that the shooting is already in the works. He had also unveiled that Carl Weathers who can be seen as Greef Carga in the series will direct an episode of the second season.

The timing of the news of The Mandalorian Season 2 is quite interesting. It was shared within a few hours after the finale of season 1 was aired on Disney+. For those who are unaware, The Mandalorian revolves around Pedro Pascal who is a titular bounty hunter, Gina Carano, who plays the role of Cara Dune and Carl Weathers who plays the role of Greef Carga. But the real show-stealer is Baby Yoda (who is not actually Yoda but is the same species as the Jedi Guru).

The Mandalorian is set during a time that is after the fall of the Empire, and the First Order is yet to emerge. It is the first Star Wars series to air on Disney Plus, another would be Obi-Wan TV series and will star Evan McGregor. One more series, Cassian Andor is also in the works in which Diego Luna will reprise his role from the Rogue One movie.

The return of The Mandalorian for the second season is good news for not only Star Wars fans but also for people who love good content. The show has a 94% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the final episode “Redemption” has a 100 “Fresh” rating too. Only time will tell whether The Mandalorian second season will live up to the expectations or not.
