Last year, Jonah Hill sold his charming Colonial-style Santa Monica home for $7.2 million in an off-market deal. Now, he is selling his 3,200 square-foot lower Manhattan Loft for about US$11 million (AU$15,258,000). He bought the property about 6.5 years back for about $ 9.2 million and had it leased recently as per listings held by Nick Gavin at Compass. Taxes and common charges add up to be about $12,000 a month.

Tucked into a high floor of The Schumacher, the condominium currently owned by Jonah Hill is worthy of the high price. For those unaware, The Schumacher is a stunning seven-story Romanesque Revival structure that Edward E. Raht designed in 1883. It housed the Schumacher and Ettinger Lithography studio. It was also revamped by Morris Adjmi Architects and turned into a full-service boutique building containing only 20 units. Promo material describes that the property offers well-practiced discretion.

It was converted back to its original layout of three bedroom and four and a half bath condo. The house owned by Hill now displays 12-foot barrel-vaulted brick ceilings, fumed 7.5”-wide white-oak floorboards, oversized arched wood-frame windows, and cold-rolled blackened steel accents.

Designer Axel Vervoodt’s preferred artisan has limewashed the walls. It also has many high-tech accoutrements like a smart home system that Hill (and the future buyer) can control by a tablet or phone. It also has automatic shades throughout the condominium and a state-of-the-art audio-visual system with invisible speakers.

Some other highlights of the property are a custom-made projector and screen that graces the 800-plus-square-foot combination living and dining room, a master suite that stretches more than 31 feet long with two closets, a gourmet kitchen with almost veinless white marble counters that waterfall over the ends of a large island snack bar.

Jonah Hill is a popular celebrity who has been signed on to portray Jerry Garcia in the upcoming Martin Scorsese-directed biopic about the Grateful Dead. He is also producing it. Some people also recognize Jonah Hill for his blockbuster films like “21 Jump Street” and its sequel “22 Jump Street,” “Knocked Up,” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.” So, the star can afford million-dollar properties which he can buy and sell as he pleases.
