After teasing it for about half a year, Lotus has finally unveiled the race car fans have been waiting for. The all-new Emira GT4, a track-only car meant for dominating the racetrack, is finally here. It was debuted on the famous Hethel test track in England last week, where the racecar completed laps of the legendary 3.5-kilometre circuit with a Lotus exec and former British GT championship winner at the wheel.

In essence, Lotus showed the sheer power and speed of the machine perfectly. The new Emira GT4 is built exclusively for national and international GT4 class competitions. It will be the final gas-engined model of the British Marque and thus is simply brilliant.

Under the hood of Emira GT4 is a tuned 3.5-litre Toyota 2GR engine with a Harrop TVS 1900 supercharger. The V-6 is combined with a paddle-shifted Xtrac 6-speed sequential transmission which helps it to churn out 294kW at 7,200 rpm. According to reports, the car will go from zero to 100km/h in just 4.3 seconds. The top speed of the Emira GT4is approximately 290km/h.

Measuring about 4.2-meters, the Emira GT4 weighs 1899kg dry, thanks to an aluminum chassis and lightweight composite bodywork. It also has an aero kit that features a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and a giant rear wing that help it cut through the air easily. The new creation by Lotus is also

fitted with a forged aluminium double-wishbone suspension setup, competition-spec brakes with six-piston front callipers, and adjustable Bosch Motorsport ABS that ensure improved handling and stopping power. It rides on aluminium wheels wrapped in Pirelli GT4 rubber.

Inside, the Emira GT4 has a six-point roll-cage, a high-tech Motec display with data-logging capabilities, and a certified racing seat with a six-point harness. It will be the non-EV in the Lotus lineup from 2022 onwards. Priced at $299,900, the 2023 Lotus Emira GT4 has already sold out for the first year of production. The current orders will likely be fulfilled this year. Lotus might also increase production in 2023 to meet global demand.
