Virgil Abloh unites fashion giants
One of the most creative artistic directors of LV is Virgil Abloh. He has mastered the art of blending streetwear with luxury in a never seen before manner. In his latest collection, the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 is something no one saw coming and almost everyone is swooning over them now.
The sneaker collaboration, Louis Vuitton X Nike Air Force 1, was shared to the world during the debut of latest menswear runway show by Virgil Abloh. LV provided a first look at the monogrammed makeover of the Air Force 1 shoes by Nike.
The images shared from the runway have made it clear that the Nike Air Force 1 shoes have changed considerably. They are now remixed with LV’s house codes. What are they? Well, they are monogrammed canvas available in rich hues of brown, green, blue, and some clean white.
The unique Nike Air Force 1 sneakers have offset tongue tags. As expected these have the luxurious LV branding. They are flipped-out tags behind the Swoosh, “AIR” which is on the midsoles, Even the laces of the Nike Air Force 1 has verbiage. One look at them and you will know that Virgil Abloh had a key role in creating them.
Another change in the special Nike Air Force 1 sneakers is that the footwear brand’s signature emblem is not alone. It appears as a luggage tag atop some bags that obviously reflect the fashion house’s brand.
Talking about the collaboration, luxury fashion house said this in show notes, “A cultural symbol in its own right, today the Nike Air Force 1 serves as an objet d’art emblematic of self-generated subcultural provenance.” It added “For Spring-Summer 2022, Virgil Abloh col- laborates with Nike on bespoke Air Force 1s, fusing the trainer’s classic codes with the insignia and materials of LV in homage to the hip-hop culture that shaped him.”

With this cool collaboration, Louis Vuitton has done something that many brands can only dream of. It has given a new look and feel to the iconic Nike Air Force 1.
