Lucid Motors has recently unveiled the first production car, Lucid Air that has everything a car lover would appreciate. It has a stunning design, superb specifications and is very luxurious. It has a 113-kWh extended range battery pack and a low drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd. The efficient and compact power train lets it offer the space of a long wheelbase of Tesla S class, but the footprint is roughly equivalent to a smaller E-Class.

The first Lucid Air model will be an all-wheel-drive dream edition that will be powered by two permanent magnet electric motors, one on each axle. They can churn out combined 1,080 hp. This car can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than 2.5 seconds. It can also consistently run the quarterly mile in just 9.9 seconds. In comparison, the 2021 Porsche Taycan needs 10.4 seconds for the same run.

Lucid Air can have a range as high as 517 miles with the optional extended battery pack. It can also have a 900-volt onboard charging unit which can charge the vehicle up to 300 miles in only 20 minutes via a DC fast charger.

Lucid Air also seems impressive when it comes to high-quality and sustainable materials and finishes. The interior of the car has an extraordinary digital instrument panel which includes floating screens. When it comes to interiors, the potential buyers of Lucid Air can choose from different colour combinations, all of which are named after iconic locales of California like Mojave, Santa Monica, Tahoe, and Big Basin. Each of them has a blend of sustainable fabrics and woods and choicest leathers or non-animal upholstery.

The cabin has many small emblems of the California grizzly bear whose likeness appears on California’s flag.

Aussies who are interested in the Lucid Air as they want something that can better than the Tesla S class might need to shell out AUD 99,730 for this vehicle. The base model Air would be available sometime in 2022. If you are a buyer who is looking to be among the first seen in a Lucid Air, you need to shell out AUD 191, 230 for the Air Grand Touring. In comparison, a Tesla Model S ranges from AUD 141,811 for long-range model and AUD 161, 311 for the Performance model, including the Luxury Car tax that is levied in our country. The prices of Lucid Air mentioned here do not include these taxes.

So, the Lucid Air is certainly going to be more expensive than Tesla Model S. Only a buyer can decide whether it is worth it for them.
