MB&F is at it yet once again. The luxury watchmaker is known for its amazing inventions and unparalleled designs. And now, the watch house has decided to make the LM Perpetual with Palladium, one of the most precious and rarest metals on Earth.

Without a doubt, Palladium is the perfect metal to be used in watches. First, it carries a look similar and, in many ways, even better than Platinum. Furthermore, Palladium is a hypoallergenic metal. Unlike Nickel, Palladium does not require a whitening alloy. Instead, it has a silver-white colour in nature.

Now, the LM Perpetual in Palladium would certainly be even more expensive than before. The watch was first released in 2015. White gold, red gold, and yellow gold version of the LM Perpetual are already available in the market. Furthermore, enthusiasts can also get their hands on the titanium and platinum versions. However, MB&F was yet to make a Palladium version until now.

Regarding this, MB&F says, “The choice of Palladium is not an easy one. Surprisingly, the cost of the raw material surpasses both gold and Platinum today, and it is significantly more difficult to machine than Platinum, making these 25 pieces a true challenge to craft.”

The house acknowledges that Palladium is far more difficult to acquire as compared with Gold and Platinum. In fact, it is so scarce that jewellers now label it as the big new metal for the industry. And due to its naturally white shine, it has already replaced Nickel in many applications.

Based on the current information, the price of the new LM Perpetual Palladium version would be around $206,000. Still, it is much cheaper than what the original Perpetuals by MB&F costed on their release. For instance, the MB&F LM Perpetual in gold was $251,000 at launch, while the platinum version cost $243,000.

To create the LM Perpetual, the watchmaker, MB&F, reportedly collaborated with Stephen McDonnell, a renowned watchmaker from Northern Ireland.

Furthermore, the new Palladium version of the LM Perpetual has upgraded corrector pushers, which makes this model far more ergonomic. Furthermore, the darker finish on the watch’s back result in better contrast and hence, significantly enhance its looks.
