McLaren just revealed a limited-edition McLaren 720S variant that is exclusively designed for supercar enthusiasts in Australia. Only three units of this limited-run McLaren 720S will enter the Australian market and are expected to be in showrooms by the end of this year.

Just like the contemporary race cars by McLaren, this limited-edition McLaren 720S also comes in a Burton Blue and Papaya Spark colourway. The new model will feature sills made of carbon fibre. These will be embossed by a signature from Daniel Ricciardo, the renowned Australian F1 driver.

Furthermore, the cars will also feature one out of the three dedication plates, an Australian flag, and stickers of the number 3 (the race number of Daniel Ricciardo).

However, the mechanics and driving of the vehicle just remain as powerful as ever. These new variants of the McLaren 720S come with the usual 4.0 turbocharged V8 engine that can send 530 kW and a torque of 770Nm to the car’s rear end. Furthermore, it also contains a 7-speed dual-clutch auto transmission.

So, the limited-edition McLaren 720S is capable of sprinting to 100 km/h from 0 in just 2.9 seconds. Though, it can reach a very high speed of 341 km/h maximum. However, the final price of these McLaren 720S variants has not been confirmed yet.

Since the standard edition costs $489,900, we can expect these limited-edition variants to be priced higher than that.

Overall, this car pays tribute to the Aussie F1 driver, Daniel Ricciardo. Regarding this, the commercial executive director of McLaren, George Biggs, stated, “Daniel Ricciardo’s relentless determination and pursuit of excellence are qualities that perfectly reflect the McLaren ethos.”

He further added, “The 720S is a fitting model to celebrate Daniel’s achievements, and we’re delighted to see it adorned with the Australian flag crafted by MSO.”

Perhaps, the most interesting thing about this new McLaren 720S variant is that it is very exclusive. In partnership with the Melbourne and Sydney McLaren dealerships, this vehicle will not be available for sale outside the Australian market.
