Mercedes-AMG EQS 53: Here’s What the Electric Vehicle Will Cost
The most luxurious and expensive Mercedes-AMG money can buy today.
Mercedes-AMG has launched its first electric vehicle in Australia. The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is the most powerful and luxurious model to date, and its price tag is also quite surprising. The first four-door AMG without a fuel filter cap will cost $328,400, excluding on-road costs. Read on to know more about Mercedes-AMG’s newest model.
The car will be offered exclusively in Australia in the AMG EQS 53 guise and will have high-level specifications. This is the first-electric Mercedes-AMG model that has ever been launched in Australia. The first EV from the company, the SLS Electric Drive supercar of 2013, wasn’t launched here.
The AMG EQS 53 is also the most expensive Mercedes-AMG available for sale currently. It costs more than one and a half E63 S performance sedans and over three A45 S hot hatchbacks. Powering the AMG EQS 53 is a pair of electric motors, and it also boasts a 107.8kWh (usable) battery pack that can produce outputs of 484kW and 900Nm in the standard model. The Mercedes-AMG covers 0-100km/h sprint time in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 220km/h.
If a person opts for the $7690 AMG Dynamic Plus Package, they will get outputs of 560kW and 1020Nm in Race Start launch-control mode. So, it is AMG’s most powerful car on sale in Australia. It can achieve a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 250km/h. Mercedes-Benz Australia claims up to 587km of electric driving range thanks to a large battery and a 0.23 drag coefficient.
With the car, a buyer will also get DC fast-charging up to 200kW. Due to it, one can achieve 10 to 80 percent charge in 31 minutes. Buyers can also choose from a standard 11kW or optional 22kW AC onboard chargers.
The power is backed up by 415mm six-piston front and 378mm single-piston rear compound brakes, adaptive air suspension, and rear-wheel steering. The AMG EQS 53 is also loaded with many standard tech features, digital LED headlights, and a full suite of advanced safety aids. Sadly, the Level 3 semi-autonomous driving tech available overseas isn’t legal yet in Australia. The new car from Mercedes-AMG is available to order now, and the first customer deliveries will be commencing imminently.
