Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4²: The More Luxurious and Powerful AMG G63

It has been more than 40 years, and Mercedes-Benz is still looking for ways to make the G-Wagen more potent. The latest attempt is the 2023 Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4², which is the new beefed-up take on the powerful AMG G63. It was unveiled by the German marque recently.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4² SUV is suitable for any terrain as it has a higher ground clearance. The new SUV is just like the first 4×4 Squared, which was based on a G550. This time, the company has entirely overhauled the standard model’s design to increase the off-road capability of the Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4².

Under the hood of Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4², one can see G63’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 and the same 9-speed automatic transmission. So, this new four-wheeler can also churn out 585 hp and 627 ft-lbs of torque.

The new Mercedes vehicle is equipped with front and rear portal axles- with independent suspension- which means it has a ground clearance of 13.8 inches. It’s 4.3 inches more than the standard G63. The new model can climb a 45-degree grade and wade water at levels as high as 35.8 inches.

Thanks to the extra height of the Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4², it has larger wheels and tires. It will be equipped with 22-inch machined alloy wheels as standard. It will also have fat off-road tires to ensure plenty of grip.

The example of Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4² shared has a Green Hell Mago colour, but buyers can choose from about 40 other hues. The model also has a unique spoiler with LED driving lights above the windscreen. It also has a new spare wheel carrier with 4×4² lettering and various carbon-fibre accents. Buyers can also go for a roof rack with a rear ladder.

Inside the Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4², the cabin has diamond-quilted Nappa leather seats with carbon trim. It also has extended ambient lighting that goes into the air vents. The car also boasts a 12.3-inch digital display with a unique start-up screen and rear-view mirror. The pricing information and production numbers haven’t been shared yet, but the brand did admit that the car will only be available for a limited time.
