NSW Gears Up For Another Ease In Coronavirus Restrictions

New South Wales was previously on a streak of no new COVID-19 cases. However, this streak got broken just a few days back. Yet, the number of cases in NSW are still low enough for certain coronavirus restrictions to be eased.

So, starting from Friday onwards, the coronavirus restrictions in NSW will not be too as strict as before. The government has suggested dining spots and outdoor places to maintain some level of social distancing. Where outdoor gigs can have the capacity of up to 500 people seated.

The state has a huge live music scene in which one cannot simply let go. Previously, the limit of people in live gigs was 20. So, it is a big step that the limit has now been raised to 500 people max.

Though in the current state of uncertainty, it is extremely important for the organizers of gigs and concerts to follow some COVID SOPs and a safety plan. This should include proper social distancing measured, along with a record of all the people present. This would most probably be achieved with the help of QR code patrons.

Other hospitality venues are also enjoying the ease of Coronavirus restrictions. For instance, the number of maximum guests in public venues and outdoor areas has now been doubled. Whereas the rule of four-square-meters apart is now just reduced to two square meters per person.

However, it is important to note that the Coronavirus restrictions in NSW still require indoor spaces to follow the 4-square-meters rule. So, pubs clubs, cafes, and restaurants will continue to operate as they were.

But that is not all. Based on reports, the coronavirus restrictions may be further eased in the coming few weeks. According to Brad Hazzard, the NSW Minister for Health, this ease in restrictions will help the hospitality industry is getting back to work.

He added, “This is another step toward as normal a life as possible in a COVID-19 world, and will draw more people to our hospitality venues to catch up with family and friends, particularly in outdoor spaces as summer approaches”

However, despite the ease in coronavirus restrictions, proper social distancing and SOPs must always be followed.
