NSW GYMS ARE SET TO OPEN ON 13 JUNE - HOW ABOUT THE REST OF AUSTRALIA?

Aussies totes love going to the gym, it’s basically a part of our lives and we can’t get enough of it as the gyms have been shut due to the coronavirus pandemic. More than 4 million people and 35,000 fitness professionals have been waiting for the gyms to reopen. Well, there’s have a ray of hope mates!  NSW gyms will soon be reopened (with restrictions) and other states might follow soon. Here’s a low-down on when and how the gyms might be reopened all over our country.

New South Wales and ACT

NSW Gyms will be opened on June 13 with restrictions. The group training classes will be limited to 10 people, and indoor activity will be capped at 100 people. In addition to NSW gyms, the plan is also to open indoor swimming pools, yoga studios, and community sports events. Even children sport will likely open from July 1.

The news of NSW gyms opening again was shared by NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro who announced it at a press conference in Sydney. He added a cheeky remark too. He said,  “As they say, you build summer bodies in winter and that’s what we’re doing today,” So, if you miss your summer bod, you can head to NSW gyms soon.

South Australia

Dance studio classes in South Australia will be limited to 10 people while gyms cannot have more than 20 people at the time. The restrictions have been relaxed since June 1.

Victoria

Fitness centres and indoor gyms can open from June 22, and only 20 people will be permitted in the gym at one time. It doesn’t matter whether they spend their time doing simple exercises or some hardcore workouts.

Queensland

The gyms are expected to open from June 13, and up to 20 people will be allowed.

Tasmania

Here, the gyms might reopen from June 15. There is no word on the number of people allowed at one time. (Speaking of gyms, have you ever tried a carnivore diet?)

Western Australia

The gyms were open from 18 May but with strict restrictions but on the 6th of June they will be allowed to offer the normal range of activities, including use of all gym equipment but in line with this, gyms must be staffed at all times and undertake regular cleaning.

All in all, it’s clear that not just NSW gyms are opening, many other states are also concerned about the fitness of its people. It’s time to chase your dream body again! BTW, here’s a tip, drinking coffee is a great pre-workout!
