New Obi-Wan Kenobi Full Trailer Breakdown – Darth Vader is Back

Lucasfilm releases a brand new Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer, showing more of Ewan McGregor’s return in the Disney+ series.

Lucasfilm celebrated Star Wars Day on May 4^th by releasing a brand-new trailer of its upcoming series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. It tells us what to expect from the Disney+ series and confirms that Darth Vader is back. Read on to know the full trailer breakdown.

Though the series was announced several years back, Lucasfilm had been hiding the details of the project for quite a while now. Previously, it released a trailer that hinted at Darth Vader’s return. Now, the studio has confirmed it via the new trailer without even showing him.

The new series will see Ewan McGregor making a comeback to the Star Wars universe. He last played Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series is by Director Deborah Chow and reunites McGregor with Darth Vader or Anakin (played by Hayden Christensen). It’s obvious that there will be a rematch between the famous Jedi and the popular villain.

In less than 90-second runtime, the new trailer manages to reveal plenty. It teases Darth Vader’s presence in the series but refrains from showing the Sith Lord fully. The trailer shows many members of Inquisitors who are hunting for Obi-Wan. Also, the bounty hunters want to hunt the Jedi down.

This isn’t the first time a Star Wars project is not showing Darth Vader in his entirety. Even Rogue One: A Star Wars Story did so in the past. Lucasfilm knows that the sound of the villain’s breathing and brief glimpses of his suit are enough to confirm his presence without going into details of the rematch.

There is no doubt of the fact that a rematch will happen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series but not showing even single footage of it is a smart move by Lucasfilm as it keeps fans coming back for more and raises their anticipation levels. Other marketing materials are teasing the clash between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, the lack of footage keeps everyone guessing. It also builds hype for the show, which might be another successful Star Wars project.
