Oscar Isaac to Star as Solid Snake in Sony’s Metal Gear Solid Movie

The Metal Gear Solid movie has finally gained some momentum

Oscar Isaac in Dune (2021) – Warner Bros.

In the near future, you might see Star Wars actor, Oscar Isaac, sneaking around in a cardboard box. Sony’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid film adaptation will star Oscar Isaac as the protagonist, Solid Snake, in a report according to Deadline. You might have seen Isaac as Resistance fighter Poe Dameron in the latest Star Wars films. He is also starring in the upcoming Dune movie as Duke Leto Atreides, and we think he could be a great fit to play as the legendary Solid Snake.

Apparently Oscar Isaac did, too, as he cast himself for the MGS movie role in this interview:

The Metal Gear Solid movie, which is currently in development, will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. But like some other video game movie adaptations, this title has been in development for quite some time —the creator of Metal Gear Solid Hideo Kojima first revealed that a film was in the works back in 2006 (yes, 14 years ago). Aside from those, other details on this Metal Gear Solid movie is still unknown, so it doesn’t seem like we should expect the MGS live-action anytime soon.

Hopefully Isaac’s casting as Solid Snake is a good sign that the movie could be really happening. Another video game adaptation, Uncharted, has also been in the works for over a decade, but appears to have actually started production, so perhaps the Metal Gear Solid movie wll proceed with production too.
