Oscars 2021 ended with the Best Actor award

Oscars 2021 - Highlights of the Ceremony and the Winners
Oscars 2021

Everybody is talking about the Oscars nowadays. Though, many people have not been particularly happy with how the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony ended. Overall, the Oscars 2021 ceremony was unlike any ceremony before.

Unlike the previous ceremonies, Oscars 2021 ended with the Best Actor award, which was bagged by Anthony Hopkins. This was perhaps, slightly unsettling as fans were expecting Chadwick Boseman to win.

At the same time, Mank had the highest number of nominations in Oscar 2021. Yet, Nomadland by Chloé Zhao bagged the award for the Best Picture. For the same movie, Zhao won the Best Director award.

Nevertheless, fans were quite hopeful that the late actor, Chadwick Boseman, would win in the Best Actor category. Though, Hopkins was the one who bagged it due to his top-notch performance in the movie, The Father. It even foreshadowed the amazing performance of Riz Ahmed in Sound of Metal.

The Oscars 2021 ended up being the second winning ceremony for Anthony Hopkins, with the first win being for his performance in The Silence of The Lambs. At the same time, Frances McDormand overshadowed Carey Mulligan and Viola Davis, bagging the third Oscar in her career, for her performance in Nomadland.

Back in the 90s, she had won the Best Actress award for the movie, Fargo. Then recently again, they won for Three Billboard Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Hence, speculators were doubting that she would win in the Oscars 2021 ceremony again.

On the other side, Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg was nominated in the Best International Feature Film category. And not surprisingly, it won. One of the most notable moments of the Oscars 2021 ceremony was Vinterberg giving an emotional speech regarding his daughter who passed away before the filming had begun.

With that, Tenet by Christopher Nolan also won in the Best Visual Effects category. Though, this was pretty much expected to happen in the Oscars 2021 Ceremony.
