Every year we see a new fitness fad making people crazy. One of the fitness fads that has made people crazy during the coronavirus pandemic, especially in the US, is the Peloton Bike. The brand had its humble beginnings in 2014 in New York and has become extremely popular now. As per a leading publisher, its revenue increased by 128% in December 2020. This brand is now coming to Australia, and some people are getting excited. But is the brand worth the hype? Read on to know!

Peloton plans to launch the Peloton Bike and the app of the brand Down Under soon. The original Peloton Bike is an indoor exercise bike that you can connect to the smart devices you own using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. It will not only keep track of your workout, but it will also monitor your heart rate and will offer you membership to a vast library of virtual workout classes of the brand.

Another variation of Peloton Bike is Peloton Bike+ which is similar to the regular bike but has added the ability to let you pick between cardio or strength workouts. It also comes with a larger screen that can rotate 360 degrees.

One of the reasons people love the brand is that it has more than 10 workout types available that can be streamed on-demand. The types include everything from yoga to cycling or even running. Even people who don’t own a Peloton Bike can use the app and avail of a free trial of 30 days.

As per reports, Peloton Bike will be available in the back half of 2021 and will cost about AUD 2,895. It is worth the investment if you intend to use it several times a week and you are a fan of spin classes. It also has a brand value that will attract.

Some reasons why the Peloton Bike is not worth the hype are also worthy of a mention here. First, Australia doesn’t have a strict lockdown like the US currently, so you don’t need at-home workout equipment as much as US folks do. Secondly, there is no guarantee that the Down Under app will be available in Australia. Also, the cost of the bike is equivalent to a year’s membership at a high-end gym.

All in all, the Peloton Bike is a hefty investment you should consider carefully before buying the equipment or signing up for the classes. But most of us need to!
