The Therapeutic Goods Administration has provisionally approved the booster doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for all people over the age of 18. According to the TGA, people over 18 can get a booster shot if they want to if six months have passed since the primary vaccination. It is recommended that people who got Pfizer as the key vaccine should get the Pfizer booster. It was also mentioned that the Pfizer booster is suitable for people who have had any primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved in Australia. It was also mentioned that data regarding the use of booster with a different primary vaccine series was quite limited. The Moderna COVID-19 booster is yet to be approved in Australia. Some boosters by the brand are already approved in the US and European nations.
