Various streaming services such as Netflix and Apple are looking at the possibility of buying the upcoming James Bond movie, ‘No Time to Die’. Originally, this film was set for debut in the last April. However, it has already been delayed several times.

For instance, it previously got pushed to November. However, due to the increasing cases of COVID-19, the film has now been pushed into 2021.

Due to these delays, MGM Studios has apparently lost in between $30 Million – $50 Million according to the insiders. At the same time, studios such as Sony and Paramount have gained a good profit by letting streaming services acquire movies such as ‘Without Remorse’, ‘Coming 2 America’, and ‘Greyhound’.

This is because the entire exhibition sector is still struggling amidst the pandemic. However, according a spokesperson from MGM, the possibility of selling the new James Bond movie to streaming services is nothing but a rumour.

In this regard, the spokesperson said, “We do not comment on rumours. The film is not for sale. The film’s release has been postponed until April 2021 to preserve the theatrical experience for moviegoers”.

Though, some insiders in companies and rival studios have suggested that MGM has explored the possibility of selling this James Bond film to the streaming services. These insiders do believe that MGM could let go of this mega-work for a big sum.

According to these insiders, MGM Studios was open to a dal of $600 Million for its new James Bond, which is a big sum indeed even for most streaming services.

However, nobody is yet sure whether Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the producers of the new James Bond film will sign the deal off. At the same time, Universal Pictures will have to be compensated. After all, it held the foreign distribution rights to this film.
