If you are a watch enthusiast, then you probably know that Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT is catching all the attention right now. Here you can know what makes this watch so special, besides being a limited-edition.

Audemars Piguet first introduced the Royal Oak Concept timepiece in 2002, and watch-lovers were mesmerized. It was an openworked model that featured a tourbillon and chronograph. That timepiece was designed to pay tribute to the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak. It was expected to be a one-off limited edition, and only 150 pieces were designed.

The timepiece was housed in a magnificent 44 mm case that was made of Altacrite 602, which was an alloy borrowed from the aerospace industry. So, the timepiece epitomized a concept that was taken from the playbook of the automotive industry, i.e., create a far-out model and showcase the cutting-edge examples of your craft and then withhold it from the market while you test the mechanisms and the buyers crave for more.

The concept struck a nerve, and in 2008, the watchmaker launched the second set of timepieces that had the Royal Oak Carbon Concept Tourbillon and Chronograph as well. Hence, a collection was born. In 2015, the brand launched the Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Michael Schumacher that was named for the world-renowned F1 driver. The watch met the brand’s desire for a mechanical wristwatch that could measure multiple consecutive lap times that were completed on the racetrack. In 2015, the brand also launched the Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie, which was created after eight years of R&D. It was like a supercharged minute repeater.

Now the brand has launched Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT that pays homage to the micro-mechanisms that are housed in a 44 mm case of black ceramic and sandblasted titanium.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT has an asymmetric openworked design that features amazing-looking redesigned bridges as well as a flying tourbillon at 9 o’clock. This unique hand-wound model also has an impressive power reserve of 10 days.
