Squid Game’s Jung Ho-Yeon is a Louis Vuitton Global Ambassador Now

She’s representing the brand’s fashion, watches, and jewellery.

The popularity of the Netflix TV series Squid Game is on the rise. Now, the stars of the show are reaping the benefits. Actress Jung Ho-Yeon who played the role of Kang Sae-Byeok, recently became the most-followed Korean actor on Instagram with more than 16 million followers. She is also a Louis Vuitton global ambassador now.

Interestingly, Jung Ho-Yeon’s career started with Louis Vuitton also. She modelled for the ready-to-wear campaign of the brand in 2017. She also starred on the house’s runway of Louis Vuitton. She then became the cover star of different magazines like Vogue, Elle Wedding, Nylon, and Harper’s Bazaar, among others.

Talking about Jung Ho-Yeon appointment as the global brand ambassador of Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière said, “I immediately fell in love with HoYeon’s great talent and fantastic personality, and I am looking forward to starting this new chapter of the journey we started at Louis Vuitton a few years ago.”

In the Louis Vuitton campaign image, Jung Ho-Yeon can be seen wearing a pair of slingback pumps and a double-breasted coat, and a new Twist bag in black that has a slinky silver chain. Sharing the experience, Jung Ho-Yeon said, “It is an honour to mark my beginnings as an actress with Louis Vuitton after having worked with them as a model. I’m looking forward to every moment I will experience with Louis Vuitton as their global ambassador.”

Jung Ho-Yeon was hesitant about her role in Squid Game, but she quickly adapted to the role. She said, “More than anything, I think I was able to accept Sae-byeok without any big difficulties because I am similar to her. In 2016, I left Korea to further my modelling career overseas, and I spent a lot of time alone. At the time, the emotion that I felt the most was loneliness. That feeling of loneliness while trying to persevere and live isn’t all that different.”

Highlighting how she managed the sudden stardom, Jung Ho-Yeon said, “I was chatting with Park Hae-soo the other day, and he said, Let’s keep our feet on the ground. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I live with the thought that my feet are on the ground. I am well-aware of how much work I have to do and learn to become a better actor, and I try not to dwell too much on the success of Squid Game. For the fans, I think it is best to show Jung Ho-Yeon improved as an actor in my next work.”
