The winner of this race is quite obvious

Tesla Model S Plaid Faces the Rimac Nevera In an EV Drag Showdown
Tesla Model S Plaid vs. Rimac Nevera

The Tesla Model S Plaid is known for its quick acceleration. However, the Rimac Nevera sets new standards in terms of performance when it comes to electric vehicles. For instance, last week, the vehicle was dubbed as the quickest car in production after running a quarter mile in 8.58 seconds.

Of course, the Tesla Model S Plaid is not a direct competitor of the Rimac Nevera. However, this is the only vehicle that possibly comes close to the high-performance electric supercar.

The Rimac Nevera features a total of 4 electric motors. All these motors send a combined 1408-kW to the four wheels. All the performance comes for a high cost of more than $3.36 million (AUD). On the other hand, the Tesla Model S Plaid is significantly cheaper. Though, it still packs great power.

Featuring 3 electric motors, the Tesla Model S generates a 760-kW output. At the same time, it weighs 2192 kg, whereas the Rimac Nevera weighs lesser at 2146 kg.

To directly compare the performance, both cars recently competed in a drag face-off. In the race, the Rimac Nevera failed to achieve its record-breaking run. Although, it beat the Tesla Model S plaid fair and square.

But it would be an understatement to say that the Tesla Model S did not perform up to the mark. Both EVs had a very consistent performance. While the average for Rimac Nevera was around 267 kilometres per hour, the Tesla Model S averaged at 244 kilometres per hour.

Furthermore, where the Rimac hit a speed of 96 km per hour in 1.9 seconds, it took 2.08 seconds for Tesla to reach the same speed. Nevertheless, the performance of both vehicles is top-notch. Since both vehicles are astonishingly quick, they are never getting on the streets.

Instead, both vehicles will remain restricted to the tracks, as such power may not be for everyone.
