Car lovers, it’s time to rejoice. Finally, the all-new and upgraded next-generation Porsche Taycan is here. It’s full of upgraded tech and yet have old-school colourways that are inspired by the ‘90s. Here’s are a few reasons why you should be excited about this car.

The first reason to be excited about the next-generation Porsche Taycan is that it has a greater real-world range. The WLTP figures would probably be similar to the 2021 model, which has up to 482 km of range. However, the new next-generation Porsche Taycan will cover a few more kilometres thanks to the new software.

Though the two electric motors and the batteries remain the same, the next-generation Porsche Taycan will have better charging and thermal management as it will have a Turbo Charging Planner, which heats the battery to help shorten the charge times. Sadly, Porsche has shared exact figures for how long the powertrain will need to charge the battery.

Another reason to love the next-generation Porsche Taycan is that it will have a new Remote Park Assist system that lets a car enter or exit without even a driver. All you will need is to use an app on your smartphone.

One more reason to anticipate the next-generation Porsche Taycan is that it has an Android Auto that is merged with the infotainment system. In addition to that, the car’s voice assistant is upgraded, and the satellite navigation system is more streamlined to enhance the driving experience.

Lastly, the next-generation Porsche Taycan is also a car to look forward to because of the change in the colour palette. The Paint to Sample Scheme offered by the company lets you choose from 65 additional colours, including hues like Acid Green Rubystone Red that will make you nostalgic and take you back to the’90s.

The VP of the Taycan model line, Kevin Giek, said: “Our all-electric Taycan range is growing and thriving.”

You don’t have to wait for long to see the powertrain. The next-generation Porsche Taycan will probably be launched at the end of 2021, and the US pricing starts at US$ 153,600. The details of the Australian release and pricing aren’t out yet.
