The Batman Release Date Postponed: Warner Bros. Shares Latest Schedule

WB is the latest studio to make changes to its release schedule due to the coronavirus

Warner Bros. recently shared the latest release schedule in which there were several release delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The studio has re-dated several movies that were to be released in 2021 and 2022. The list includes one of the most anticipated films, The Batman starring Robert Pattinson.

 

It is confirmed that The Batman will not have a June 2021 release. Instead, it will be released on October 1, 2021, in the US. The film is among the movies whose production has been impacted by the pandemic.  

According to reports, the shooting of The Batman is stalled in London and will only be resumed once it is safe. After that, the focus will shift to finishing the film and relocation would be avoided. The new release date, October 1, is already made famous by the release of The Joker, so the expectations from The Batman would be quite high.

 

The good news for The Batman fans is that a quarter of the film has already been shot and Matt Reeves is sifting through the footage. This is the second time The Batman has made news recently. The last was when its footage was leaked.

In addition to The Batman, several other films’ release schedules have been announced by Warner Bros. The Flash will shift from June 3, 2022, to July 1, 2022. The release of Wonder Woman 1984 has also been shifted from Summer 2020. The follow-up of Shazam is also hit as it moved from April 1, 2022, to November 4, 2022. The Sopranos prequel, The Many Saints of Newark has shifted from September 25, 2020, to March 12, 2021. The release of King Richard has shifted from November 25, 2020, to November 19, 2021. The untitled Elvis film will also shift from October 1, 2021, to November 5, 2021.

 

Interestingly, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is still planned for release on July 17 and will be released if the lockdown ends by that time or it might be moved a few days before the release. Everything is unpredictable as of now.

The Australian dates of all the films, including The Batman are yet to be announced, but it is likely that they will be scheduled in for the same timeframe as well.
