The Falcon could play a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future
Malcolm Spellman, the showrunner of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is now working on Captain America 4. According to hints in the past, Sam Wilson might take the role of Captain America
in the future.
Following the conclusion of the Avengers: Endgame movie, Falcon receives Captain America’s shield by Steve Rogers. That opens the possibility that the Falcon could play a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.
There might be enough evidence to support this theory. For instance, the Marvel Cinematic Universe did not abruptly hand over the shield to Sam. Instead, he went through a complete journey before accepting it in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series.

Just recently, the final episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier aired on Disney+. Eventually, it brought the debut for which many fans have been waiting. Fans finally got the long-awaited glimpses of Sam wearing the Captain America suit.
In WandaVision, the journey of the Scarlet Witch was already set up to be taken forward in the Doctor Strange franchise. However, with regards to Sam’s Captain America, no official announcements have come through.
So, fans are left wondering whether The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will be back with another. Given that Sam now carries the Captain America title. This left Marvel fans wondering if the Disney+ show will return for a season 2, especially after showing viewers Captain America and The Winter Soldier as the final title card . However, it appears this will happen on the big screen instead.
Based on reports, Captain America 4 is currently under development at Marvel Studios. The team behind this upcoming movie includes Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. They are the showrunner and the staff writer of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, respectively.
The news has just emerged. Though, Spellman and Marvel Studios are probably working on the film for a while already.
Also, details about the cast are limited yet. But since Malcolm Spellman is involved, there is a high chance that Anthony Mackie will star in the film too. With that, Marvel Studios has not assigned an official release date to Captain America 4.
