George RR Martin has made it clear that Game of Thrones will not just fade in the future. Writing on his official blog – not a blog, he has explained that 3 more spin-offs of the popular HBO series is “moving forward nicely”.

Being the author and the creator of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series on which Game of Thrones is based, the words of Martin could be taken seriously.

“Oh, and speaking of television, don’t believe everything you read,” the post reads. “Internet reports are notoriously unreliable. We have had five different Game of Thrones successor shows in development (I mislike the term ‘spin-offs’) at HBO, and three of them are still moving forward nicely.”

The buzz of rumoured Game of Thrones prequel last year was received quite positively by the fans of GOT. And since then many new revelations are coming from the end of different sources. However, still very few things are known about these upcoming GOT series.

Fire and Blood

The Fire & Blood, which will be one of the 3 GOT spinoffs is planned to be set 300 years before the real Game of Thrones and will focus profusely on the history of the Targaryen family beginning with the Aegon the Conqueror, who was the creator of the Iron Throne.

As far as the other spinoff of GOT is concerned – “The Long Night”, will be developed by Jane Goldman, the writer behind Kingsman and Kick-Ass. Apart from getting co-written by Goldman and Martin. Unlike the latest episode of Game of Thrones , its story will take place thousands of years before the actual events that have been shown in the ongoing series of HBO GOT and will explore about the origin of the White Walkers and more about the history of the Stark family.

George R. R. Martin, the writer of Games of Thrones sums up – “The one I am not supposed to call ‘The Long Night’ will be shooting later this year, and two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer,” Martin continues. ”What are they about? I cannot say. But maybe some of you should pick up a copy of Fire & Blood and come up with your own theories.”
