The watch industry is facing a lot of unpredictability due to the coronavirus crisis. Some companies like Rolex have shuttered factories while others like Patek Philippe have decided to keep the novelties under wraps for the next few months. These changes have created a vacuum that has been brilliantly filled by the latest Breitling Top Time Watch that was re-launched for the first time since its 1964 debut.

The Breitling watch also has a James Bond connection as Sean Connery wore it in the 1965 film ‘Thunderball’. James Bond is also known for wearing classy watches. In the latest film, No Time To Die, Mr. Bond is sporting an Omega Master Diver 300M 007 timepiece.

Coming back to Breitling Top Time, it is 41mm in diameter and is cased in steel. It has a brown nubuck leather strap that looks amazing. The Zorro style is also there, and most watch lovers will still fall for it as it’s still a charming aesthetic. Aesthetically pleasing watches are recommended in almost every simple style guide.

The Breitling Top Time will be a limited edition watch as only 2,000 pieces will be created. Each of them will be numbered. The watch will come with a blockchain-based digital passport which will allow the owners to “confirm the authenticity and ownership of the watch with a single click… and transfer ownership with a simple blockchain transaction”.

The digital passport will be created by digital certification experts Arianee. This trend will likely be followed by other watchmakers as well. Coming to the pricing, the new Breitling Top Time will be available for AUD 6,950 from the e-commerce channels of the company as of now. It is expected to be available on the company’s global retail network in the future.

Talking about the Breitling Top Time, the CEO of Breitling, Georges Kern said, “The Top Time is an important but often-overlooked part of our heritage, and we know it’s going to resonate with men and women who love this blend of history, design, and great performance.”
