The Matrix Resurrections was among the most awaited projects that people were waiting to get some glimpses of. Just recently, at CinemaCon, we finally have some glimpses of the upcoming movie. Now, the trailer of ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ is available on the internet.

With this new instalment in the franchise, a new Matrix film will be seen on the big screen after more than a decade. The last Matrix film came in 2003. So, it has been a long time since fans have received a dose of something new.

Featuring Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, The Matrix Resurrections will also star Daniel Bernhardt, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Lambert Wilson. Along with that, we also have some high-profile movie stars, including, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathon Groff, Toby Unwumere and more.

Currently, the plot details have been fully kept in the dark. However, Keanu Reeves recently mentioned that The Matrix Resurrections has “a beautiful script that is a love story, it’s inspiring.”

Though, we do have one hint. Reeves also mentioned that the film would not be a prequel to the events in the past. This was after the hosts on “The One Show” asked Reeves if The Matrix Resurrections will continue off from the events of the previous movies. With that, the filming of The Matrix Resurrections was done in secret under the name “Ice Cream.”

Furthermore, the filming was done in San Francisco, with some locations in Chicago and Germany as well. However, on 16th March 2020, the project got paused due to the COVID pandemic and resumed later in August again.

Regarding the filming, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stated that he has never seen the type of filming technology (advanced camera rigs and equipment) that Lana used in The Matrix Resurrections. So, the project is indeed an ambitious one.

He further added, “It was really interesting to be making ‘The Matrix 4’ at a time when the world was so warped and when the reality was so distorted. It could creep in a little bit if you let it.”
