Omega has released its latest timepiece, James Bond Seamaster in Platinum-Gold Edition on Tuesday to pay tribute to the film series and its long-standing relationship with it. Omega first created the GoldenEye Seamaster timepiece in 1995. So, the relationship is about 25 years old now.

The James Bond Seamaster is a beauty with a 42-mm case that is crafted in durable platinum gold. The alloy is also used for a side plate that is engraved with the specific number of the special edition watch. It is also used for the polished-brushed buckle of the black leather strap of the watch.

The black ceramic bezel ring of the watch has a diving scale that is created with platinum in positive relief.

The James Bond Seamaster is a part of the Omega James Bond collection that was launched last year and also include a hidden number 50 that’s placed within the Super-LumiNova of the 10 o’clock index to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film. In addition to that, a 007 logo is added to the dial at 7 o’clock that is visible on the white enamel minute track. The indexes, hands and the Bond family coat-of-arms situated at 12 o’clock are made of 18k white gold as well.

James Bond Seamaster also has an impressive in-house Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 8807 automatic movement that comes with METAS certification. The timepiece is resistant to magnetic fields reaching as much as 15,000 gausses. The movement of James Bond Seamaster also contains free sprung-balance and silicon balance spring. It has an automatic winding in both directions. Both, the gold rotor and balance bridge are crafted by 18k Sedna gold, which is a proprietary rose gold alloy. They are also finished in Geneva waves in an appealing arabesque pattern.

The James Bond Seamaster will cost AUD 79,200 and has a “Globe-Trotter” suitcase that is bound by NATO-inspired straps. A black rubber strap is placed on the inside.
