What is the most dangerous sex position in the world?

Sex is fun, and it helps strengthen your relationship. But did you know that a wrong sex position can also fracture your partner’s penis? Yes, Dr. Karan Raj, an active member of TikTok with 4.3 million followers, recently shared that the most dangerous sex position can break their partner’s penis.

The Most Dangerous Sex Position

He said that reverse cowgirl is the most dangerous sex position and is responsible for 50% of penile fractures. The information was shared via the TikTok video, and it had more than 2.5 million views at the time of writing this article.

If you have not tried it yet, the most dangerous sex position, reverse cowgirl, happens when a person who is getting penetrated sits on top of their partner and faces away from them. The receiving partner can stare at the feet of the penetrating partner, which can be very sexy.

Explaining how reverse cowgirl can be a dangerous sex position, Raj said, “If there is any erratic thrusting or if the movements of the two parties are not in sync it could lead to the [penis] slipping out and being crushed by the female pubic bone.”

Though the penis does not have any bones, it can fracture. A penile fracture occurs when a tear happens in the tunica albuginea. It is a piece of tissue that helps a penis to get erect and enlarged. If you get a torn tunica albuginea during intercourse, the injury can swell up to the size of an eggplant. If it happens, you need to head to the emergency room, where you will probably need surgery. In case you skip that, you might end up with permanent urinary and sexual issues.

In a study published in the International Journal of Impotence Research in 2017, the reverse cowgirl was not the most dangerous sex position. It was Doggy Style as it caused 41% of fractures. It was followed by Missionary that caused 25.5% of the fractures and women on top that caused 10% of the fractures.

So, it seems that almost every sex position can be dangerous. Raj labelling reverse cowgirl as the most dangerous sex position is a bit unfair. The lesson to be learned here is that we should all be mindful during intercourse and avoid accidentally fracturing your penis so bad it swells to the size of a large purple vegetable.
