This new Patek Philippe Nautilus is a timepiece that even the richest watch enthusiasts cannot get their hands on. This highly rare unit featuring an olive-green dial is heading to auction, sealed in the original plastic.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus will be featured in the Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces sale in Monaco this month. The winning bidder will end up getting his or her hands on the most esteemed timepieces of the year 2021.

Since this Green-Dial Nautilus will come in a factory-sealed plastic, it would be brand new. No other hands would have touched this mighty watch. This Ref. 5711/1A-014 model came as a replacement to the original discontinued Ref. 5711/1A-010 model that featured a blue dial.

The earlier model was discontinued to slow down the market of secondary knockoff Nautilus watches. And within three months of its release, the Patek Philippe Nautilus is nearly impossible to get one’s hands-on.

Hence, this Nautilus is selling for 10 times the original retail price. It is being said that not even the president of Patek Philippe can help anybody find one. The president told WatchPro, “Even my sons are asking, ‘Can I have one?’ But the answer is no. On the positive side, though, it’s part of the beauty and myth of Patek Philippe.”

Perhaps the most alluring part of the new Patek Philippe watch is the Olive-green dial, which helps the watch stand out from the rest. The dial is nicely nestled in a stainless-steel case that looks sleek.

Another notable feature of this watch is that it has water resistance capability up to 120 meters underwater. However, this is a feature that is quite common in luxury watches. Yet this new Patek Philippe Nautilus stands out as one of the rarest watches by the house till now.

Antiquorum estimates that the watch can be sold anywhere between $80,000 (AUD) to $242,000 (AUD). It is 10 times the original retail price of this watch.

In other news, you can now spend a regal night at the luxurious Le Grand Contrôle hotel at the Palace of Versailles.
