Well, there are several Top Gun: Maverick reviews that you will find on the internet. However, most of the reviews do not truly do justice to how amazing the movie is. It follows the story of Pete Mitchell, who has spent 30 years serving in the Navy. However, he seems to be running out of time.

Mindless drones are replacing individualism. Furthermore, the navy cannot use the speed of the pilots. This results in Pete Mitchell joining Top Gun again. Apparently, that is where all the pilots go who do not fit the 21st-century technological scene. However, unmatched enthusiasm and passion are among the many things that Pete can offer.

Apparently, Tom Cruise decided to do his own stunts for the film. This also resulted in his co-stars experiencing what it feels like to fly the high-speed machines. Of course, aviation enthusiasts are not the only ones who find airplanes alluring. For Tom Cruise, it looks like the decision has really paid off.

All the scenes of Maverick that we see inside the cockpit in the film seem very real. It looks so much better than the overly perfect CGI world. Usually, sequels of movies do not always turn out to be as good as the original. However, this Top Gun sequel is among the few sequels that the fans will find equally fascinating. Those who hate the 1986 classic may also change their opinions after watching Maverick.

After all, the movie carries the right amount of sentimentality of the past and induces a lot of serotonins. At the same time, it might give a deep feeling of nostalgia to other people. For now, it looks like this Top Gun sequel just checks all the boxes right.

The movie puts its focus on an inanimate target, which is a uranium plant that is unmanned and illegal. Furthermore, this uranium plant is owned by an enemy that does not belong to a particular country. All of this looks very fresh because it takes us away from the usual stereotypes that we see in movies of this genre. For instance, many action-thrillers, military, and spy movies blatantly perpetuate racism and islamophobia. However, it also seems a little unnatural and unrealistic.

While one might think that the real conflict is between Maverick and the superiors, the true conflict is between Rooster and Maverick. The son of Goose believes that Maverick has stalled his Naval career. This results in an increase of tension between the two resulting in a more grounded relationship.

It has been reported that Glen Powell played the role of Rooster so well in the auditions that they ended up casting him for a different role. We get to see him in his arrogant self, who still has some humility after failing.

Other characters in the movie do not really get a lot of attention. They just get enough so that one views them as actual people. For instance, Phoenix is a woman pilot who is there just for the sake of it, and there is no mention of genders.

One might wonder why Manny Jacinto was cast for a role where he speaks no words. He could have otherwise delivered an amazing performance. Jennifer Connelly is also a part of the movie as Penny, a love interest. However, the character feels like it was bolted on forcefully onto a thrilling ride.

The love life of Maverick does not really add much to Top Gun Neither does it affect the mission’s stakes or the relationship that Maverick has with his students. Fortunately, Top Gun is filled with many suspense and adrenaline-inducing sequences that are designed to fully immerse the viewer. Due to that, cone completely forgets about the other much fewer appealing parts of Top Gun.

Overall, the movie is quite subtle and touches on the modernized themes, relationships between a father and a son, and old age. And, of course, Top Gun also contains a shirtless beach scene. The movie really has all the right elements that a sequel should have. But it also works just as well as a standalone film if you were to watch it for the first time. That is what makes this movie so miraculous!
