Toyota Unveils Its All-New bZ4X Electric SUV

It is the first entirely battery electric SUV from the Toyota.

Toyota is among the few automotive companies that are pioneering the world of hybrid vehicles. However, the company did not produce a fully electric vehicle before. But now, that is changing with the new Toyota Toyota bZ4X.

On Friday, Toyota revealed the new electric SUV, which was originally shown as a concept car back in April. However, around that time, we did not have many details of the Toyota bZ4X. But now, we know that the bZ refers to “beyond zero.”

 

The Toyota bZ4X features an electric motor rated at 150 kW and can reach a 160 km/h highest speed. Furthermore, this vehicle can reach a speed of 100 km/h within 8.4 seconds. That is not all. Other than the base Toyota bZ4X model, the company is also offering a more powerful model with an all-wheel drive.

This model will achieve 100 km/h in only 7.7 seconds with two motors rated at 80 kW. Furthermore, the Toyota bZ4X features a 71.4 kWh battery which gives a mileage of 450 km on a full charge. Nevertheless, it takes only 30 minutes for the car to reach 80% battery charging capacity.

 

According to the company, the Toyota bZ4X will feature the first water-cooled battery system. Furthermore, the car makes use of different techniques to prevent battery degradation. Other than all the standard features present in modern electric vehicles, Toyota has decided to go one step ahead.

The Toyota bZ4X comes with an optional solar panel roof which can significantly improve the life of the battery. For instance, in one year, this could provide up to additional 1800 km.

 

If we talk about the car’s looks, the Toyota bZ4X has a futuristic design with several sharp edges. Furthermore, it also features a wing-shaped wheel, as seen in the likes of Tesla. Other than that, this SUV also features the third-gen safety and assistance system by Toyota.

The car is set to arrive in the European region in the mid of 2022. Furthermore, the company has also confirmed a launch in Australia. However, it won’t happen before the end of the next year. Other than that, experts speculate that the Toyota bZ4X will be priced between $71,900 to $74,900, just like its competitors.
