Will Over-the-Ear Apple AirPods (X Gen) be Launched Soon?
We might see a totally different Apple AirPods soon
Apple is a brand dedicated to innovation and efficiency. A few days before, it was speculated that the company is working on a foldable iPhone and now rumour has it that the company might come up with over-the-ear Apple AirPods and that too sooner than expected.
If that happens, the over-the-ear Apple AirPods will be an improvement over AirPods Pro and it would be good news for Apple lovers who prefer hands free and wire-free music. The reports regarding over-the-ear Apple AirPods began when some people from internal product inventory at Target in the United States spilt the beans.
The reports were first shared by popular YouTuber Jon Prosser who shared that over-the-ear Apple AirPods will soon be available and they are expected to cost USD 400 (or AUD 605). The AirPods are given X-Generation tag at the moment as they are not officially announced yet.

In addition to over-the-ear Apple AirPods, the company is planning several other launches like iPhone SE2, iPhone 9, a refreshed iPod Touch and a speed-focused iPhone 12. A better version of Apple Watch might also be in the works (just an assumption).
The launch of over-the-ear Apple AirPods could happen as soon as this spring via an Apple event, or it can happen later, by the end of this year. Neither Apple nor Target responded to a request for comment at the time of writing this article.
The launch of over-the-ear Apple AirPods, if it’s true, makes a lot of sense for the brand Apple as competitors like Microsoft are releasing high-end noise-cancelling cans with Surface Headphones.
If the rumours regarding the launch of over-the-ear Apple AirPods is true, the company will likely start sending press invites within the next few weeks. By mid-March, it will be clear whether Apple is organizing a spring launch event or the fans of the brand need to wait until WWDC for the next keynote presentation by Apple.
